I was curious about integrating a simple game mechanic — something that would look equally good in a flat puzzle interface — into a 3D world and storyline. This led to the creation of Stargazer, a story about two brothers who escape into the forest to their favorite viewing spot to watch spaceships take off and land at the spaceport across the lake. The older brother teaches the younger one to identify ships by their engines, flight patterns, and vapor trails.

That’s the essence of the mini-game: the only way to handle the clues is to memorize them and apply logic, juggling combinations and exceptions. An electric spaceship can’t travel to another system because it lacks the power; the screwdriver engine can be recognized by its flickering spiral trail; Martians are best at piloting cargo ships. Through this process, you gradually become an expert on the alien galactic fleet.

At the same time, the story unfolds, revealing the fate of the brothers and their father, who works on one of these ships and is constantly away. Until one day, the pattern of ships suddenly changes… What could have happened?
